A robot vacuum can keep floors clean enough to reduce the frequency at which you need to manually vacuum. Select a vacuum that is well-trained in navigation, has the ability to clean stairs and corners, and that has a large bin that will need to be cleaned out every now and then.

The i3+ EVO and its sibling, the i3 EVO are the same robots, but they differ in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying features. The i3+ is an excellent alternative for those who want a an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the dust bin when it is full.
Both robots excel at cleaning up surface debris from carpets and hard floors and they're excellent in moving around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ does not have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we test. It may be stuck on power cords and socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces, like rug and hardwood.
iRobot recommends you clear out areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, which includes clearing out any toys or clutter it may encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the dust bin and filter clean so that they aren't clogged by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is depleted it will return to its docking station and automatically empties its debris into the station's external dustbin, and then continues cleaning where it started. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for about an hour and a half of continuous use, and it takes around three hours to fully recharge.
2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line and is packed with the latest technology. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and -- the most important feature of all -- it has an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the primary sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba I7+ is able to better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can control your robot via the app or via voice.
In our tests the i7+ performed more agile and faster than our top choice and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surfaces kinds including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy, is its self-emptying dustbin which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and lowers recurring costs.
We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room and even vacuum a specific area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. When connected to these services, we were able give the i7+ voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world of cordless vacs that are like minivans and buses, this tiny Dyson model feels like a sports car. It's powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in most homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery that produces fade-free power for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens, and then releases fresh air into your home. The specialized head uses rigid nylon bristles that penetrate deep into carpets, and then pick up large crumbs or fine dust. It comes with three suction modes that can be adapted to the task. It is able to quickly change from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum, and vice versa.
The model comes with a dock that can charge the Dyson to 100 percent in 3.5 hours. It also provides easy access to 2 attachments and an wand. This is a huge improvement over earlier Dysons, which take a long time to charge and are a pain to store.
The V10's biggest drawback is its short run time. Its marketing claims that it can provide up to 60 minutes of running time are not true as CR's tests show. This is a typical, not an exceptional, time for the battery-powered cordless vacuum. It's enough time to sweep the average-sized home, but not enough to reach every spot. (A second pass generally works). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeably superior on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums the 694 is an affordable model that's a good option for those who don't want to spend too much money on a robot. It's capable of sucking up all types of debris and sizes during our testing, and it often goes over the same areas multiple times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front side helps to get into corners and along the walls' edges, which is a nice addition.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it's not equipped with the ability to map that comes with more sophisticated models such as our top picks such as the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It may get stuck on phone cords or furniture and will often run out of power before returning to its base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower recurring cost and has more advanced automation capabilities and is better able to move itself.
